Ms. Iannacone's 4th-period STEM class engages in horticultural activities on June 3rd, 2022.
Student's used organic pea pods, organic soil discs, organic and non-GMO seeds, and custom wood plant-marker labels.
The students planted cherry tomatoes, green beans, carrots, butterhead lettuce, and radishes.
The students and I set up an indoor garden using a full spectrum LED light source to accommodate our growing plants.
Once plants are ready to harvest, we will be using them in our culinary program for ingredients to be used in the food truck for all students to enjoy!

Today, our living environment students dissected fetal pigs! Hold on to your gag-bag, there are pictures!! It is hard to imagine, but dissecting fetal pigs actually provides insight into human anatomy, which is why they are such good dissection subjects for high school students.

So today is Earth Day. And what a beautiful afternoon it was! Our Greenburgh Academy students took a walk through our surrounding neighborhood to celebrate this most important holiday by cleaning up! Our PBIS program ran a scavenger hunt today in conjunction with Mr. Crews (Thank you sir!), a great time was had by all!

Ms. Batista's Horticulture Class spent Earth designing some very interesting sculptures with their recyclables. It is so great seeing our students become a part of and caring for the environment we all live in. Check out these fun results!

Yes! There's more Earth Day Scavenger Hunt photos!!!

This week's sports happenings!!

Football in Spring? Say what? Yup!! Today is the inaugural game for the new Girls' Flag Football league in section one! Join our team today at 5pm for some great fun and witness history as these girls pioneer this new and upcoming high school sport! No concussions!! Torpy Field in Peekskill, 5PM kickoff!

Our Forensic Science students were lucky enough to visit the Yonkers Police Department Forensic Lab. Big thanks to the head of the lab taking time from her busy schedule to work with our students today!

Ah this glorious weather! Has spring finally arrived? Ms. Mueller's zoology students seem to think it has! They went for a walk today and found this lil fella to join our garden!

We have started a Girls' Varsity Flag Football team this season. To help us kick it off with our new team, and other local teams, the NY Giants hosted a football clinic to help give some skills to these new players! It looks like they all had a great time!
