Dear parents, guardians, students, staff, community partners and potential future students,
We have finally reached the final quarter of the 2021-2022 school year! While it did not share all of the challenges we collectively faced in the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years, it certainly presented a unique set of variables that we had to overcome as a community. From unexpected COVID outbreaks, to ever-changing guidance, to national inflation, this was another year for the books thus far. With this said, it is the responsibility of all of us, as global citizens, to ensure that we use this last quarter of the school year to build positive momentum into the future. The warmer weather is approaching, restrictions are continually easing, and our seniors are going to be able to experience normalcy with senior activities, prom and graduation.
As a school community, we have had some ups and some downs, but we have survived and have some wonderful new programming and opportunities available to our students. Some of these include:
- additions to the LEGO Mindstorm coding program
- a partnership with Amazon Future Engineers program
- the launch of Food Truck Friday run by our Culinary and Consumer Math program in partnership with our Food Services Department
- our boys varsity basketball team winning the league championship
- the inaugural season of our girls Flag Football program
- field trips to the North Salem Wolf Conservatory, Yonkers Forensics Laboratory, West Point, Dopl SoHo
- an expanded animal assisted therapy program including work with Giving Retriever, Pegasus Equine Therapy and the addition of our school bearded dragon, Zoey
- and many more exciting developments, all found in the Live Feed section of our website!!!
As we head into summer and begin planning for the 2022-2023 school year, there will be new programs, trips and opportunities available to our students! To continue our development and success, it takes ALL of us to make our dreams become reality. We appreciate the love and support you show your kids and our community and please know, we send it right back!
Have a wonderful Spring Break!!
